The SSL XL-Desk is a hybrid between a modern desk and an analogue studio console. The SSL XL-Desk is designed with both recording and mixing engineers in mind who work within a DAW centric studio environment.
The SSL XL-Desk features 20 channel strips, 16 of which are dual input mono (switchable between main input or DAW return) and 4 stereo channels. The first 8 channels of the SSL XL-Desk feature high quality Variable Harmonic Driver (VHD) preamps.
The SSL XL-Desk has an 18 slot 500 format rack built in to allow for processing or microphone pre's. The ability to easily patch in any 500 series module allows you to customise the sound of the SSL XL-Desk to however you please. In slots 17 and 18 of the rack is an SSL Stereo Bus compressor module which is one of the most widely used Mix Buss compressors in pro audio.
