DPA d:dicate™ 4006A Omni Mic

The DPA d:dicate 4006A is an industry standard omni directional condenser mic that performs with neutral transparency in every scenario. Defined by its high frequency response and impressive detail, the 4006A has found its way into many studio and live tour mic kits.

The mic excels when paired with another 4006A, creating a great stereo image when recording pianos, choirs and drum overheads, but also works brilliantly when used solo on acoustic guitars, classical string and woodwind instruments and vocals. Its omni-directional pick up pattern reduces bass boost proximity effect that cardioid mics can suffer from, meaning the 4006 can be positioned extremely close to the source without issue.

The mic 4006 capsule is built around a modular capsule design, meaning it’s possible to swap out the capsule to change the pick-up pattern, or swap the mic body and preamp to change the performance and body size. The mic also ships with a selection of acoustic attachments for adjusting the pickup performance. The 4006A comes with a DD0251 Free field grid, a DD0254 Close micing grid, a DD0297 Diffuse field grid, microphone clip, windshield and its own individual calibration chart.

What’s more, as is standard with all DPA reference line microphones, the 4006A comes with a 5 year warranty.
