After 12 years with PMI Audio, Malcolm Toft is moving on, to create a new brand in the pro audio world.
This new company is called Ocean Audio and is based in Devon, England.
There are currently four 500 series modules in the line and they include a Mic Pre
, an EQ
based upon the classic MTA console EQ, and an innovative Input
module system, which when used in a lunchbox give you the ability to build a two-bus mix system, complete with aux sends.
According to Malcolm Toft :
"The idea was to go back to where it all began, in England. I have a history here, recording T-Rex, David Bowie and the Beatles; and this is where I designed and built, the now legendary, Trident consoles. I wanted to go back to my roots and build another classic British company."
The aim of the company is to produce products designed and hand-crafted in the UK, under the supervision of Malcolm himself, but keeping the price comparable to production in the Far East. All products use conventional components for ease of servicing.
A limited edition run of 100 of each of the four 500 series modules is already under way. Each of these are built by Malcolm Toft and are numbered and signed by the man himself.
