Novation has been building Launchpads for the better part of decade, and it’s fair to say the controller has launched careers, pushed controllerism into the mainstream, and been an integral part of thousands of DJ and producer setups both onstage and in the studio. At NAMM 2015 Novation have announced a professional version, the Launchpad Pro, which brings long-requested features to the product line.
Plug In and Get Started Launchpad Pro is just as sleek, lightweight and tough as the rest of Novation’s Launch range and can be chained to multiple other Launch products, or connected to the rest of your studio or live setup.
Launchpad Pro comes with everything you need to get started, including cables and software, and can be bus-powered over USB. It’s also class compliant and doesn’t need any drivers; just install the software, plug in and start performing.
The Launchpad Pro has been designed to keep the user focused on their performance: easily and immediately apply effects, “dip in and out” of specific mixer controls at the touch of a button, and switch between four key modes:
- Session Mode: immediately trigger and combine your clips.
- Note Mode: create dynamic beats and play the grid just like an instrument.
- Device Mode: easily apply effects to your performance.
- User Mode: create unique custom performances and layouts.
Launchpad Pro will have a RRP of £229.00 and be available for purchase from Spring 2015 with lots of people seeing the Pro as being direct competition to the already popular Ableton Push.
