The Tascam DR-10X is a compact audio recorder that attaches to handheld dynamic microphones using a captive XLR making an excellent news gathering recording system. The DR-10X records in broadcast WAV format at 48 kHz/24-bit which can then be offloaded through a USB connection or by inserting the microSD card into a computer. 

The Tascam DR-10X also offers both manual and automatic gain setting, a low-cut filter and a limiter to prevent overloads as well as Dual Recording Mode which records a simultaneous recording at a lower level as a backup track in case there is distortion.
